Default anyone worked on a 4t80 before?

I was just wondering if anyone here had worked on a 4T80 before - i've got a friend with a 98 or so caddy with a dead or slightly out of wack input speed sensor, and i can't quite tell from the blue book how much digging is required to get that beastie out...

so (even though i kind of doubt it), has anyone here pulled apart their 4T80?

Apparently its a LOT of work to get that out, $1000 worth of work at the dealer wouldnt phase me one bit.

Yeah, at first the diagrams made it look like it was something you could unbolt from the case nice and simple... i was pretty happy. And then I looked a little bit more... and its quite possible that you have to tear the whole darn thing down.

Which is a bummer.

"Yeah, all you gotta do is turn the bolt."

"You mean that bolt surrounded on 5 sides by steel?"
