you can try certain things to keep it from spreading/reseal the box, but they really cant be fixed and there is no gaurentee that it will hold

You can have any speaker reconed or refoamed, but the cost is not apealing since the whole assembly has to come apart.
I would suggest using a clear caulking to patch up the hole as it is flexible when its dry. Tape would patch it, but not help stop the spreading of the tear.
