I will say, about the L7, or any other speaker like it, that one thing that drives me insane, is that the most efficient speaker is a round speaker. A square speaker is so much less inefficient that it makes baby Jesus cry. Thats my opinion though.

L7 are great for being loud. My friend had 2 in his ford explorer and had a vented box that took up the whole "trunk" area....it was loud and hit pretty low but it really depends on what you want, for SQ I would go with something else, don't get me wrong, they sound good but you can do much better for SQ...for loudness, they do great. Vented boxes in a trunk of a car isn't gonna work the best, they can sound pretty good in sealed boxes, polyfill helps too, it just depends on what you are really going for.

Well looking at 1-JL W6 now and I am leaning this way because on SQ. What do you guys think? I added a poll to so I can narrow this down a little.

definitely with you on the jl w6, very good sq driver. although they are a little pricey! out of the drivers you have to choose from, your best option for sq here is the w6.
like i posted before, if youre aiming squarely at sq,and youre open to suggestions try the shiva-x. you will not be disappointed. the aforementioned FI Q is also a pretty good choice.
EDIT: i voted two subs for the price of one, because you could get 2 shiva'* for the price of one of those w6'*
