What is a BD Drag? I've heard of a dB drag... but no BD...

and really, you should stay out of it.

And OP if you could maybe post the specs on the box and Cracker and I could share some of our experience ... maybe make the next one better if this one doesn't turn out right.

... You know what, I'm done with this. This isn't my thread, this isn't about me, and there'* no place on this forum for your BS.

OP, I apologize. If you want\need real help, PM me, cracker, or another audio guru.

What size are your subs? 12'*, 15'*? Just adjust the width and depth specs until you can get your recommended internal volume with your max height at 17.

Not gonna be a huge difference but since most music has bass in it that'* upper 30'* to mid 40'* I think you'd be safe tuning your box to mid to upper 30'* for daily on music.

LOL. Miss alot of notes? How do you figure that? My box is tuned to 30 and I can play well into the upper 90'*. Can't push them as hard with a ported box? Lowers max power handling? Where are you getting your info from? I don't know anyone who worries about max ratings on audio equipment. You ever seen anyone at SPL comps running sealed boxes? Need I say more?

First thing that stands out is that you've blown multiple subs in multiple enclosures with less than half of their rated power going to them. Interesting. So how did you conclude the speakers blew due to the type of box they were in? The subs that I know of that have 4" coils and can handle 2200 watts ONLY SOUND GOOD IN PORTED BOXES and surely won't be blown by less than half of their rated power UNLESS THEY'RE GETTING A HORRIBLY CLIPPED SIGNAL OR THE SS FILTER IS SET WAY TOO LOW AND THEY'RE BEING RUN AT FULL TILT WHILE TRYING TO PLAY FAR BELOW THE TUNING FREQ OF THE BOX.

My last setup, my subs were rated at 250rms, had 2" voice coils and were in a ported box that was easily twice as big as it should have been and I was giving them about 870rms for the pair of clean unclipped signal and never had a single problem. Matter of fact, i've been building and installing systems for about 17yrs and have yet to smoke an amp or subs
