Default Stock display dead

The clock display on my stock head unit died on me. I've been told that I could take the face plate off and replace a bulb inside. Anyone done this? What size bulb will I need?

this is kinda a stupid question, but I found this out the hard way. Does your climate control work? or do you not have climate control?

yeah, I've got climate control that works. Everything else on my stereo works too, I just can't see what time it is or what station I'm listening to.

okay, because the backlight'* switch can be off or on [can't remember the combo] and the displays don't work. Freaked me out at first . I have no clue about changing the bulb though.. I don't think anyone has had the problem.. Don't quote me on that though.
