I know we just had this again recently, for some reason I can't find it in search.

Sometimes the LED display gets whacky and puts the alien script up. The actual functions are all fine. Mine is a little different because I can reset the display, by turning the engine off and opening the door, thus clearing it. It may or may not come back right. And doing that nonsense is not exactly what i had in mind to solve the problem.

I have a spare unit for parts. Was it a ground interrupt, bulb..?

take the Face apart and first try replacing the Bulb

Finally got around to it.

Replaced the bulb, and made sure any contacts on the plugs were clean. It worked, thanks.

Someday, I'll have to find out why that works.

how do you remove the HUD to change the bulb ?

1. there is no bulb for the HUD, its a VF display
