Stereo Diagnosis?
Hey, was wondering if there were any sites or anything that I can check my stereo out. Worked fine last night, then all of a sudden today no power. Its a Blaupunkt MP3000. Had the stereo installed for about 6months, bought it around 2yrs ago so the warrentee is out now, was waiting to buy a new car cause I new I would waste my time installing it in the old car. Worked perfect. I did recently install new door speakers last night, but the stereo worked after that for about the ten minute drive after I finished putting the speakers in, sounded good. I pulled the deck, checked the outside fuse, and its still good. While the deck was out I hooked up the OE tape deck and it worked, so I know theres no prloblem with the car wiring. Anyone got any info for me? Thanks!, I seem to fix one problem, and 3 more show up for me...

You can always contact Blaupunkt and ask if they can send you a schematic of it.. most electronics even though fused on the outside also has small internal fuse that unless you're an electronic pro with lots of time won't know where to look for it and trace it. Try that first.
Ensure that your speaker wires aren't shorted or not rated for you Headunit.. it may have overheated the headunit amp and caused the internal fuse to pop.. if you're lucky.. you might be able to take the casing off the unit and see a lil black burnt mark on the internal fuse.

ok, feel like a fool again, while I was testing to see if the wire harness in between the headunit and the stock connector was bad, I noticed I wasnt getting constant power, so i ran all the way back up the harness and still got no constant, came inside and checked the diagram in the service manual, found there were 2 fuses on the fuse block for the radio, not just one, so I blew constant, I guess my deck needs constant to work and the stocker doesnt. Oh well. Thanks for the input, already contacted them for info, guess I dont need it now.

Yep.. HU needs a constant and a accessory.. so that way constant will keep your time and settings and blah blah blah.. accessories tells it to turn on so you won't have your stereo on 24/7
To be honest, I"m glad it'* something simple and not some PITA issue that requires a lot of work
