Default steering wheel control module

has anyone installed one of these, or anything similar in their Bonneville, and if so does it work well? http://www.crutchfield.com/*-fj7NRbz...aspx?i=127SWIX

I've got a PAC SWI-JACK on the way. My new headunit has a plug made just for a module like this. I hope it goes in easily, from what it looks like the hardest part will be finding the right wires to use.

well let me know how it works out for you, i'm pretty sure i'll have to do some splicing like it says but i'm not worried about that...as long as it works flawlessly.

I had one. Installation was a breeze, programming was a tad tricky, but it worked great for me. I had it until I sold the car.

What brand of head unit are you getting? There are other modules that work for certain brands of head units that have a wired remote input(a specific wire for the steering wheel controls coming out the back of the deck).

SWI-JACK works with JVC, Alpine, Clarion and Kenwood.
SWI-ECL2 works with Eclipse
SWI-PS works with Pioneer and Sony

SWI-JACK works for your model. They just dont have the Pre-'00 Bonnevilles on their application guide. Unless the steering wheel controls are completely different between the years I'd think it would work.
