Default Cost on steering wheel control module???

How much do those things cost? They are the ones that let you keep your steering wheel audio controls with pioneer, or alpine stereo'*. Also what are they called?

Do the head unit thats you purchase have to have a remote control in order for the module to work?

From what I understand....

Yes....Your radio has to have remote control compatability...

and I do believe you have to have your remote in hand, as where
i think you have to program that module with your existing remote...

correct me if Im wrong...

So if your HU is remote capable, i'd still have to buy the remote, just to program the controls?
