Default Steering Wheel Audio Controls

My wifes 92 SSEi suddenly lost all the audio controls on the Steering wheel. AS I own and SHO I have no clue on the Bonnie. Where should I start trouble shooting?

Don't know will have to check tonight. Are you thinking fuse?? If so, is the location indicated on the cover to the box or in the manual???

The lamps and data line are in the same wiring harness, so if the harness became disconnected or compromised you would lose both the lighting and functionality.

All of the buttons are illuminated. I noticed they have a "soft" feel to them and none of them will work any function of the radio

Sounds like Techinfo is the place for you. Click on the link at the top of this page, and under Tech Know-How, you'll find an article on this. You can fix it yourself like most of us do, or pay about $300 for the parts from a dealer or online. I don't suggest junkyard parts, as they have the same 'aging' problem your controls do.

Mine are still as crisp as the day I 'improved' and rebuilt them.

Thanks for the procedure. I located it and have printed it. However, assuming that all other things are equal, will the cleaning really solve the problem with the switches, or are new ones in order.

Default yeah

I few months ago I restrung some wire to the controls.. make sure to Slowly tilt up and tilt down your steering wheel... if you dont and you let it snap up it bends and brakes the wires..
