Stage 2: Custom stereo job
Ya know I'm close enough to done with my engine rebuild that I'm actually starting to think about Stage 2...the INTERIOR! Ok all I've thought of was the stereo setup. First off I got myself a new JVC 50x4 cd player to hook up to my 12 disc changer in the trunk. The great thing about doing rebuilds and talking about them at work all day is you get to meet people you never would have otherwise. So I know this guy up north now that does custom body work and he'll do some junk for me for free. I'm thinking... I have 2 JL 8" subs that would look, and sound, great right where the stock 6x9 location is. So cut those holes a little bigger and mount the 8'* there. Now he'll cut holes in the back doors to mount the 6x9'*. Look at your back doors you can tell where I'm talking about. Those 6x9'* have little 1" tweaters, oh yeah they're going up on the front doors. The 2 12" mtx'* I have are going to be trunk mounted to provide most of the bass. So I'll take the 260w programmable rockford amp and power the two 8'*. The 1400w amp will still power the two 12'* and the 300w dei will now power the back door mounted 6x9'*. Also sitting in maryland I have a kenwood 85w amp which I'll have mailed out to power the larger front speakers. All of this routed through my programmable x-over. And mind you all of the interior speakers are Alpine. What ya think?

My guess is you haven't heard JL'* . I'd probably have trouble hearing the 12'* over it. Plus you have to think about response freq'*. 15'* are for low bass, 12'* are for low-mid and 8'* are for mid-high.
