Hey again all....

Thanks to assistance from this board I'll be replacing my dash control unit..... While I have it out along with all the trim around it...I was thinking of adding an aftermarket stereo.... I have one already but haven't put it in. The main reason has been uncertainty as to what happens to the security system if I do so....

The radio has that little anti theft blinky-flashy LED in it'* face. If I remove the OEM radio do I disable my original anti-theft/security system?

If it does disable the current system is it possible to get an aftermarket harness to bypass or eliminate this problem and still have my anti-lock/security system function normally along with the aftermarket stereo?

2001 Bonneville?

It shouldn't disable the system. As far as I know that Theftlock light just corresponds to the radio not the car'* system. I've never had a aftermarket radio disable the fatory security system.
