my friend has a 1999 stratus and it has remote start and the car is being junked out due to blown tranny. well he offered me the remote start from that car. my question is if it will work in my car? i know i will probly have to by the pass key modual for the car but other then just that can i use in my car?

ok how? ive never done it before. i have always wanted to learn but i guess it my chance now. where would the current module be located in his car. he also said it was a viper. are they a good brand? do u think if i found the model number of the remote start and looked online for step by step installation instruction?

more than likely in the drivers footwell, above the splash panel(by the steering column). get it out, post back model.

are they pretty hard to install? or just a few wires? also do i have to have the passkey module? cuz i dont need the remote start cuz i dont drive my car very much. its just he sending the car to junk yard cuz he doesnt need it and its got alot of miles and a blown tranny, and he just offered if i wanted it.

not too bad to install, your first wil take awhile. You have to be confortable cutting/splicing wires. Soldering is best, but you can do it without. Bypass module is pretty easy, it just dealing with the 2 small wires( I build my own with a relay and resistor, cheaper)

ok now what if i wanted to put it in my wife 2002 saturn l300. would that need the module also? it doesnt have a special key or anything.
