Default Radio won't work

I put in a used working radio in my grand prix and all the buttons light up and it will take cds and spit them back out but the display does not work and it won't play any sound, can't really find anything about this specific issue and would like to know if I can fix it. Again it worked in the Pontiac I took it out of but will not play any sound or show the display

Is it a factory original radio that we are talking about?

Does it have Theftlock enabled?

Can you put it back in the donor and make sure it still works?

What happened to the original radio in your car.
