Radio gone crazy!
On my wife'* 2000 SSEi, the radio display start acting up. She said that the display is constantly randomly flashing all different types of displays. She also said that when she opened the driver'* door, the horn beeped twice and the door automatically locked itself. I couldn't duplicate those two problems but the radio'* display is still flashing. The HUD is working properly and displaying the radio station and I noticed that if I hold down the SVC (Speed volume control) button, the display on the radio works properly but goes back to flashing as soon as I release the button. After reading through several threads, I have checked the connections under the rear seat and made sure all connections were tight and grounded. I also checked the fusebox under the hood and all connections there were tight also. Do you guys have any other ideas or do I just have a radio head unit going bad? The sound of the radio is still good and you can change radio stations but I wonder how much longer it will last. Thanks in advance for all the great advice and help you guys provide.

If I had to guess, I'd say there are some bad solder connections on the circuit board inside the radio. The bulbs have been known to be a problem, either burning out, or having the solder connections go bad due to the heat. Harofreak00 has a good thread on how it all comes apart.

Archon,
Thanks for the prompt response. I will try this when I get some time over the next few weeks( I will be out of town on business) and let you know if I still have a problem.
