power wire, amp install part one with pics - Page 5 - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

well you dont know about imtfox, hes an electrical genius.

its not a review, its a fact. if and when your breaker fails, its more likely to fail in the closed position.

i guess you dont love your bonneville as much as i love mine...

welll like the other guys said if you amps are fused the then the fuse/breaker acts as a protection against a dead short which rarely occurs

pardon my ignorance...

"yes its 2 gague into the Cap, then 4 gague to the amps "

Is the Cap not supposed to be downstream of the power source?

12+ - Amp+ - Cap+ - Cap -

The idea being a stiffner- backflow of current when the source
dropps....

12+ - cap + to Amp?

Just wondering....

ok Lux I see that the airbag is in the way. see the area on the right side close to the fender... you should be able to snake that 4 gague throught there.

see that there are 2 7mm bolts. that is what holds the connector to the fire wall. remove the bolts, and pull the connector out, then you can drill. Once you have the connector out you can see in the car to the area, where the wire will be going through
