Ebay is an excellent source for new, discontinued equipment. I bought 2 Kenwood cd/mp3 headunits that were made for Hyundais (built just like the Kenwood MP-522, but all black) for less than 150 shipped. I also bought most of my Infinity Reference speakers for about 120 if memory serves, and those were new too. The Infinity subs I bought on clearance at Circuit City, as well as my Kicker amps (the design prior to the current ones). All told, I spent less than 700 bux, and it is quality stuff.
Even if you have a small budget, if you have plenty of time and patience with Ebay stores, there are many deals to be had.
