Well, I decided to jump into fiberglassing for the first time regardless of the weather. I say it went pretty well, it just took some time- a lot of time. But the final product was worth it I must say.

Go here for all my pics
http://picasaweb.google.com/sandnessizer/Bonneville

Here are a few highlights

Tape with base

Glassed back half

Mocked up

Fabric stretched and wetted

All fiberglass work is done

Carpeted (too bad I couldn't find an exact match)

Installed

She is about 1.2cu.ft sealed and seeing about 450w. The speaker is a Elemental Designs 13kv.2. I may upgrade to their ov.2 series if I am not satisfied with this one. So far I am impressed, as I had dual 12'* on 900w in my old van.

If it bugs me too much, I'll locate some factory trunk carpet for a perfect match. I don't think I'm that picky though. This has been a great learning experience and I should be able to make a glass box in half the time if I do it again.

This was my first crack at fiberglass. It took me about a week and a half of doing a few layers at a time. Since the temps here in Iowa have been around the 40'*, I did the work in my shed with the heaters going to keep the temps up around 70-90. Now my shed stinks like resin. Hopefully that will fade away.

I'm pretty happy with the results. I'm definitely game to do another one in the future.

That'* right where I built my enclosure, however I stuck with MDF since this was the first real setup I've built on my own.

I originally planned on using that eD subwoofer, but after research and whatnot I went with the Diamond Audio D3 series. Hope it works out well for you!

Good Work. I really like the amp rack totally hidden. Hear it but you don't see it.

Good work on the fiberglass too. I have never tried workin with glass.

Clean install

awesome.

good choice of a speaker too. I run the e12A series in my car (they dont make them anymore, probably because people dont like paying $350 for a sub)

Thanks again for the input all.

12a is a nice sub for sure. They have a 13av.2 in the works. Will be a sweet sub.
