I just installed a Sportster 4 in my wifes explorer yesterday, and so far i really like it, it is much more appealing to the eye than the starmate, even though it is about double the size. Im really happy with the quality too, it sounds nearly as good as my direct link in my car. except for the occasional light static

Jr...The kenwood I have is ready for an add on box for Sirius and it'* cake.
In that case.. you'd be set pretty easy.
BTW..talk to me before you order Sirius.

i have to be honesy tony, and tell you that i do not like my direct-connected tuner, because on MY HEADUNIT (i cannot say for sure about Kenwoods) i can only read one line of the current song info at a time (title/artist/station name/genre/etc) whereas on the modulated units the display screen shows multiple lines of track info
also, the sound quality in general is not as good as it could be. DO NOT EXPECT CD QUALITY NO MATTER WHAT i was hugely disappointed because i expected CD quality sound from my direct connect. It sounds pretty good modulated into the stock stereo in the wifes explorer, but direct connected to my relatively high-performing system, it leaves a bit to be desired

Thanks for the info Toasty. I dont know if its the same or not but when I say direct I mean an Aux in. Are you reffering to the same on your Eclipse HU?

I just wanted to share something I thought of after my last reply.
For the AUX input of your radio it would also be possible to use a 1/8 male to male headphone/mic jack OR a 1/8 male to male, Mic. to RCA for a direct connection.
Like I stated earlier this is not marketed by Sirius for a type of connection, but you should be able to grab a generic brand of these cables at any stereo or electronic retailer.

Looking at my Kenwood MP828, it'* Sirius ready and I believe it would provide more than one line of text. Not sure if it would use the aux jacks or if it'* a seperate harness. I think it'* seperate.

You can use either one depending on where you want to listen to your Sirius.
If you want it for in car Only use the IP Bus on the back of the HU with a Sirius "hide away" box (reciever).

If you want to have a Sirius unit that you can take inside your house etc. use the AUX and have a portable unit such as the Sportster, Replay etc.
