Default Install Sirius SIR-GM1 tuner in 2003 Bonneville SSEI?

I would like to upgrade my factory system to have Sirius capability in my 2003 Bonneville SSEI. As far as I can tell, it is NOT wired for satellite from the factory. When I cycle using the BAND button, there'* only FM and AM bands. I assume that there would be an XM band if it had the factory XM option.

So if my vehicle is NOT wired for satellite from the factory, is it still possible to integrate the SIR-GM1 tuner?

Many thanks in advance!
James

The SIR-GM1 manual also indicates that the 2003-2005 Bonneville must be wired for XM from the factory to use the out-of-the-box installation instructions.

Does that mean that XM radio option had a radically different wiring harness?

Has any identified a procedure to wire in the Sirius tuner for the 2003-2005 Bonneville without factory XM?

Is there another option available that I'm missing (other than using a separate Sirius receiver wired via FM modulation) to get Sirius using the factory head unit?
