but im wanting to switch it again so it doesnt light with the top up

well, the power still had to be ran from the lights to the light bar, so a ground needs to be ran too, i cant say that i see the wire shorting out in our lifetime. (Its not going to be in any high traffic areas)

brakelights may be switched power from the factory but your LEDs can be switched ground
