Beat it at what? There are way too many factors to compare here, nothing is the best at everything. Price, SPL, Sound quality, responsiveness, sensitivity, power handling, what kinda box they fit in. What do you want to do with this sub?

well if you do care about the quality factor its just like buying garbage but ethier way i'd go with 2 12'* r 3 10'* but you make the last descions

I'de put money on the 12" JL against the 15" alpine!
I have a 12 " type R and also have 2 W-7'* , no where near each other , but you can ell the diff immdtly!

2 W7'* and one 500.1 amp to each VC .
Setting up the finishing touches on the box , taking forever , now even more time with my son . But he is well worth my time and more
