Default JL Audio vs. Alpine

Do you think an Alpine Type-R 15" Sub would beat a JL Audio 15w0?

I have two JL 10s and they produce incredible sound. Never heard any of Alpines subs though.

I did'nt even know Alpine made a sub. I had a JL 10" for 4 years, had it in three different cars. Now, it is in my finance'* car still booming. I had an alpine head unit that died 16 months after I purchased it, not that that is anything like a sub, certainly put a bad taste in my mouth about the company though....

In my opinion the bigger the sub the sloppier the sound. I like to hear nice crisp bass. The biggest I'd go with would be 12", even then it probably wouldnt create the sound I prefer. I like to hear a nice solid hit rather than constant bass.
There'* my 50 cents.
