JL Audio vs. Alpine

Do you think an Alpine Type-R 15" Sub would beat a JL Audio 15w0?

arent the jl wo their bottom line subs but i have heard personally 1 jl wo 12 mine vs alpine 12 type r and id go with the jl sounds much better and clearer

I have two JL 10s and they produce incredible sound. Never heard any of Alpines subs though.

Even the w0 is better then the alpines... very clean sounding sub

I did'nt even know Alpine made a sub. I had a JL 10" for 4 years, had it in three different cars. Now, it is in my finance's car still booming. I had an alpine head unit that died 16 months after I purchased it, not that that is anything like a sub, certainly put a bad taste in my mouth about the company though....

A type R would CRUSH a W0 and I own JL W3V2's so theres no bias here

the price is bout the same isnt ?it well a bigger speaker is less efficent

In my opinion the bigger the sub the sloppier the sound. I like to hear nice crisp bass. The biggest I'd go with would be 12", even then it probably wouldnt create the sound I prefer. I like to hear a nice solid hit rather than constant bass.
There's my 50 cents.
