Keep in mind that more than likely you're going to have to cut the rear of the dash cavity out in order for teh unit to fit. The stock cd player is only 6" deep. Many aftermarkets are 6.25-6.5" deep. (especially one that houses a 7" screen.)

I just installed a jvc kd-avx1 in my 02 SLE. I needed the scosche dcgm14b... direct factory plug with doorchime relocator. I lost my onstar, but i dont use it anyway. I also had to dremel out the back of the radio housing. after you release the factory radio, you need to release the plugs that are mounted to the rear of the plastic housing and then carefully dremel out the back of the housing enough to ensure propler rear clearance... especially if you are planning a multi amp system with A/V. I barely fit that jvc.. and its screen is directly on the face, no hideaway foldouts. The only complaint I have is that the chime is now super annoying and when I took out my factory stereo, I started to experience musical dashlights-go-out. My heated seat lights went out, the blue side of the drivers side climate control went out, the gas guage light went out, but they all come back on intermittantly.

P.*. The Jensen/Audiovox in-dash units CAN do navigation via an outboard nav computer, they are also I-pod ready, can support multi amp systems, have multiple inputs, are touchscreen, and, amazingly enough, have the BEST screen resolution on the market...(I think Clarion'* indash and Pioneers new ones are the only ones that are equal or close).. I say go for it, most in-dash units are esentially the same anyway with different cosmetics and some different programming.

I've installed a few of the Jensen units. As mentioned the LCD quality is great, but I've had to replace a few due to failed motorization, extremely poor radio reception (I mean really bad, and as far as i can tell its normal as all units have been about the same) and the control joystick failing/breaking. It is what it is, an entry-level unit....packed with features, but mind you coming at the expense of build quality, reliability and fidelity. If you deside you really like the unit and want to go forward with the purchase, make sure you buy it from an authorized retailer to guarentee the manufactures warrenty, and/or an extended warrenty/policy if you're so inclined to buy them.

wow thanks for the tips custom, bug, and black ice. i think i would be able to deal with poor reception. the main reason im buying this is to burn my entire music collection on to dvd'* and use this as a cheap carputer.

for those of you who want to install a DD headunit, these are the mounting tabs you will need. They were just released a while ago. http://www.sjgreatdeals.com/sisgm1590b.html As for the dash lights going out, it'* not common. I haven't had any problems whatsoever with dash lights going out, besides the ones that already went out on my car due to crappy factory connections. If I tap on my center console, my heated seat/traction light turns back on.

You could also have a short. The harness used has something like EIGHT different dimmer wires on it. Make sure all are cut short and properly insulated to eliminate shorts.

Okay sweet. When ever I get some more $ I will be getting one of the Eclipse units,
I get a pretty good cut on them at work. I might have to take a trip out to Marshall if they
will not install it for me.
