audio question bose system
ok i have the stock bose system in my 2000 SSEi and my question is can i just add an amp and does the HU have rca jack or not. What trouble am i looking at and what cost

sorry on stock you do not get the rca outputs. you can add amps by tapping off of currently used speaker wires and wiring in a line output converter which takes your speaker wires and turns them into rcas and will also drop the high level output to a lower level output which your amp can run off of easier (because most amps use low level output). most come with adjustable gains so you can adjust those too. on this product it will run you around $15-$25.

Once you get your line converter, it'* an easy job to tap into the wiring, as the BOSE amp is monted in the trunk against the back seat, making it easy to get to the wires.
I did the job you are asking about on my 2000 SSEi, and it makes a big difference in the system'* sound.
Also replace the rear speakers while you are upgrading.
