Caps as I have been told at a very good custom shop (where my paint and supension was done) are mostly for show, help quality a bit at higher volumes, but in NO way can replace what the second battery is there for. Period. Easy doesn't cut it.

And BTW, it'* not just your car'* electrical system your taxing and burning up. Your also killing those expensive amps. When they have to run at voltage lower than engineered for, it causes heat all through the amplifier that already has enough trouble getting rid of it. When you see can see your cars electrical system reacting to power loss, it'* killing your equipment. Maybe a factor in why your systems keep failing???

yea i have experienced that issue in the past. Ive never had a problem with an amp in this car but when i was young and dumb i had a very expensive amp (PPI PCX2400) powering 2 12" Audiobahn Flame Q subs (1100w rms each) in a little Saturn SL2 and i blew the amp due to inconsistant and low voltage. If i was parked and the volume was up and the bass hit, the car would stall out.

i wouldnt say caps are useless, it all depends on your application, what kinda music you listen to, and how hard you pushing that system
knowing RAPTOR660, a cap wouldnt do you any good, you sure do need another battery and upgrade your alternator, and also start looking for some ear drums, they might be hard to find lol
a guy like me would find a cap usefull, i dont bump my music that hard and i barely push the system to the max, so it would help a bit
but for you, i doubt it

A cap is absolutely nothing more than a bandaid for a weak electrical system that does nothing but mask the real problem, and even not that effectively. A cap is useless for anyone. The only people who will tell you otherwise are the ones who were suckered into paying asinine amounts for them. If your lights are dimming or your voltage is dropping when you're hitting harder notes, your wiring is weak, your alternator is weak, your battery is on its way out, or a combination of those. A capacitor will not solve any of those problems.

If you don't even bump your music that hard, how can a capacitor offer any benefit at all?

That'* because its really for people to get suckered into lies, specially when they have shiny covers, bright blue LEDs, and a flashing voltage meter on the top. For the price of most retail capacitors, you could just buy another battery and make a real difference in your electrical system.

i just bought a brand new battery, i tested my alternator, as for the wiring, i have no idea
my voltmeter do drop down a bit everytime it bumps hard, again i was told a cap might help but wouldnt cure it..
but im not audio expert so i'll assume you're right
