I have been putting together my stereo system in my 2001 SE for about a year now, and I have been dodging one bullet the whole time. I think I need a high ouput alternator. The reason is that I think that the stock alternator puts out around 120 amps, and my big amp has a 150 amp fuse and my smaller amp has a 60 amp fuse. I am assuming that with my alternator putting out about half of my fuse rating, my alternator can't recharge my batteries as quickly as my system is pulling from them.
So here is my list of questions:
1. How many amps is my alternator?
2. Does anyone know where to get a good H.O Alternator for a good price?
3. Does anyone disagree with my theory?

no, i do not agree with your theory, however, i would still recommend that you upgrade. Your fuse rating is for a sudden surge MAX draw. Your amps draw much less than the fuse rating under normal use, while power spikes might get higher, but still not close to the fuse rating.
what size fuse/ breaker do you have on your main power wire?
