Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Help me choose!

Ok.So I'm getting Rockford'* T212D2. But I have another question for 'yall. I want to get a pair of them and I plan on using those blueprints for the 2.5 cu ft box. But each box is 30" L x 16" D. If I stand corrected, I have about 40-50 inches or so of usable width in my trunk. There'* no way that I can sit these two monster enclosures side-by-side. Would it work if I faced one toward the rear of the car, about 3 inches away from the trunk latch, and butted the other one against the back of it, faced it towards the passenger compartment, and wired it 180 degrees??

OR...

Keep the first enclosure in the same positon (facing the rear of the car)... But put the second enclosure facing the same direction as the first. Leave about 3-4" of space between the sub boxes.

I think the second config would sound better. I'm not sure.
Ideas?? Hmmm... Let me know.

P.*. - Here'* a couple of really crappy drawings that I did while thinking about what to do here. Enjoy! LOL

build a different box. are you going sealed or ported.let me know I can fit a 6 cube box in my trunk and still have room in front to mount both my amps and a battery.

Why use two boxes? Have someone build you a SLOT ported box. You only need about 4 or 5 cubes which should fit in your trunk.

6 cubes is the right dimensions for a slot ported box.

I want to bet the most sound out of these subs. 1993 SLE was nice enough to post a link from Rockford'* website, that has blueprints for the box that I wanted to use. I'll post it below for 'yall to check out.
