I thought I read somewhere that a normal break-in period is like 30 hours of low volume playtime. I'm not sure. Anyone have a good answer?

caraudioforums.com should answer your questions regarding break in periods. and give you plenty of people'* views on it....
personally i don't think breaking a sub in is needed at all. but thats me.
