Installing New Comp. Speakers
Alright so I'm going to be installing these 6.5" comp. speakers. My biggest concern is fitting the 6.5" woofer where the factory woofer is. What did you guys that have installed aftermarket speakers in the front have to do to get it to fit?
Speakers: CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System

when I installed my components, the only problem that I seemed to have was figuring out where to mount my crossover. I ended up going a bit higher. I pretty sure I ended up putting it just below where the switches are mounted because the door pokes out in that area. I dont remember having any problem with the woofer. I also reccomend securing it to the door panel with sound deadner.

its like a pre-paid card to cover the cost of labor at shops that accept them. If you dont have experience with our doors and dont feel 100% confident doing it, you should let a professional do it and dont feel bad about it. There is an old saying "pride comes before the fall", and if you are too proud to admit you need help, you may damage your door panels. I wouldnt blame you one bit but if you have anymore questions, just ask

I guess my question was, what are the advantages of buying a $50 install card instead of just paying the installer $50...?
Thanks as always!

crutchefield doesn't tell you who the installers are specifically, just what city there in, until you buy a card.. I don't understand why they do this :\

i think they do it that way so you dont just go to the shop and cut them out of the deal. I guess maybe shops generally charge more for installs. When it comes to my business. If it is something simple, I charge a simple fee but if it is in depth, I charge $50 per hour.
