Cell phone interference on 93 SSE - Page 2 - GM Forum - Buick, Cadillac, Chev, Olds, GMC & Pontiac chat

Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

Yes, ALL GSM phones will do this.

The two biggest Co. are.

Cingular and T-Mobile

The GMS Networks are better for Voice quality but sense they use a higher Frequency'* they do couse interference :(

Put your phone next to an older computer monitor and you can also tell if someone is calling you before it rings!! Wierd!

I've had this problem, but only with Nextel phones. I haven't had other providers do this before to me. ??

What "other" ones have you had?

his is why

They use a 1900mhz witch is almost the same at GSM, so thats why.

Nextel had been wrestling with that issue, as well as the need to change from its 850MHz frequency allocations to 1.9GHz as a result of a frequency change deal with the U.*. government.

my nextel does that to many things. My car speakers, my tv if the phone is near it, same with the computer. Oh and the alarm clock. I know my phone does it b/c its a nextel.
