it is not wired at 1 ohm it is 3 ohms. i have it hooked to 1 12w7. when the light came on i figured it ment that it dropped below 1 ohm for some reson. yeah the amp was just toast and they exchanged it for a brand new one and did not make me send it to be fixed. i was very happy. they did the same thing when my door speaker went out.

You need to realize the speaker setup doesn't show a 1 ohm load 100% of the time. Infact it rarely does. The 3ohm is just the average low point, however many drivers, especially high quality ones will dip into low ohms when playing various notes. Low notes seem to do it alot, but there'* no real pattern. So you may have been playing at a crazy volume, and hit some funkified note, and the speaker made a LOW resistance, and killed it.
