any idea whats the impedance?

the read door and front tweeters are 4 ohm

I don't know the impedance, but i believe the fronts are 6.5" and the rear doors are 5.25".

i wanna replace the stock speakers but i wanna retain the factory amp.
if i throw 4ohm on 2 ohm i wont be getting much output, if i throw 2 ohm on 4 ohm i doubt they would last that long

i was hoping some one would know the answer instead of me ripping the car apart

I think this has more to do with the amp than the speaker. When I bought the car, it had some Sony Xplod front door and 6x9 speakers put in by the previous owner, and the factory rear door speakers were left as is. I don't know what impedance those are, but I haven't had any problems even at maximum volume.

i thought i didnt have a problem when i had my sub
since i sold it i listened to it few times without the sub, and man is it ever tacky lol
one of the front speakers is making a little noise sometimes, so i thought id look into replacing all the inside speaker at the same time in the spring, but im starting to look around for options
not many out there that are 2 ohm

I know I found some decent JBL 2 ohm 6.5" speakers over on onlinecarstereo when I had to replace some shitty infinity stock speakers on a Jeep Patriot a couple of months ago. You could look into that.

Honestly, I can't wait for the day when I have enough money to completely gut out the entire monsoon sound system and start from scratch, a 4 channel amp, sub, and aftermarket head unit.

bad imaging + bad staging + poor speaker placement does not equal sq.
