Another thing to consider, apart from running the power and feed cables on opposite sides, is to not be stingy on the price for RCAs. Get the good, shielded ones, as those reject any stray electrical interference. Also, if you run new wires from an amplifier to the front speakers, twist those leads...doing that will also make them less susceptable to interference pick-up. If you want to go the extra mile, wrap them in aluminum foil, then use convolute tubing as a sheath. Congratulations, you now have a HUGE network cable.
An idea was suggested about running a new power wire from the HU to either the battery or make a branch from the amp feed, which *should* make the HU sound a bit better. This DOES work, at least on my Kenwood.
If I have any more ideas that pop up, I wil post them.

CAn anyone add something about speaker size differences between the different years and trim levels, and explain complications related to installing a radio in a 2000+ years, maybe we should include the post about how to use the factory gain **** on an aftermarket amp and some more info on steering controls.
I will do the speaker sizes for the different years starting at 92 thru 99
92 4x6 in the front and 6X9 in the back
92-99 5.25 in the front 6x9 in the back
92-99 5.25 with component tweeters in the front 6x9 in the back
92-99 5.25 with component tweeters in the front 6x9 in the back with component tweeters, with an amp and a gain slider
there is a harness available for the 2000+ aftermarket radio installation
and i can comment on the steering wheel controls, there is an adapter that will work with aftermarket decks (the deck must have a remote)
the company is PAC and the module is the SWI-X
I hope that helped

Are there any other FAQs not covered in my writeup, i still have box calculations to add but im done with most of it. I might explain how to install a cd player and a few other little things but thats abou tit
also i want to add that it you want to get a serious system going you might want to consider a H.O alternator and or a optima battery
anybody have anything to write about inline fuses and cicruit breakers?
also the low down on crossovers and how the work what they do so on and so forth?
and if your looking for a system go off of all RMS rateing not peak
if your looking for a system it helps to know what everything is and how it works

I added something about rms values and ill make a fuse guide. IM not really sure how in depth the admins want this to be, this is a bonneville forum, not an audio forum. Its up to them, if they want it ill add it, but when u get into that it can get kinda technical and i would have to refresh my memory, so it might take a while
ok i dont know if this has been said or not... but im going to say it.... the impedance(ohms) of ur speakers needs to match the spec for the amp(some amps are integrated into the head unit) or u will destory the amp... my dad, an electronic engineer told me this.
