Default Audio Help 1995 Bonneville: When car starts no sound.

Hello everyone..I am having a problem with this new HU...Thieves took the other unit I had installed so I bought a new one and decided to install this myself..

The problem is when I have the key to ACC position or just on the deck works fine, but as soon as I start the car I have no sound. The radio stays on and it shows the digital EQ'* moving up and down but no sound through the speakers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

My first thought would be to double/triple check the wiring. I feel like I've been through this before, but can't remember when or what caused it....

So let me get this straight...when the car is in the "on" position, the HU turns on but you get nothing out of the speakers? Are your speakers amped?

Thnx for the quick reply.

You can hear the radio/cd until you start the car, than the sound is gone. I am using a install wire harness that connects to the car wire harness, so should be right.

I was thinking the speakers may be factory amped, but I don't believe I would have any sound even in the ON or ACC position.

Again for the help...Driving me nuts.

95 should let sound through a factory amp.

My 95 SSEi would play through the amp aka gain slider before I gave it power. 97 with the bose system won't.

I agree with CC'* line of thought...look for an aftermarket amp.

he should not need an amp if he is hearing sound on ACC...

that is the weirdest thing...

get a voltmeter on the power, ground and acc wires on the back of the deck to see whats happening when

Haro.. I think there is an aftermarket amp installed incorrectly. That'* why there'* no sound.

That is my current guess.

I have this thought that the switched and power are revered. which would make sense. It will always have power then, but will only turn on in ACC because that is where it is drawing its main power from.
