Default Aftermarket keyless entry

Has anyone added one? Any recommendations for a brand? How hard are they to install?

Please make an effort to read the Forum section descriptions.

I'll move this one for you also.

Okay I was looking to add one, but with my airbag control/carpet issue I found this:

I don't think it'* factory, but it looks to be installed well. It says Model REC-8 on the front and the FCC ID is L2MAL51R.

How would I find a remote for it? I didn't get any when I bought the car.

Adding keyless entry to my SE that didn't come with it was as easy as getting a Clifford car alarm installed.

Key fob wireless door lock/unlock alarm arm/disarm is pretty much standard with most car alarms. If your car has power door locks to begin with, you just follow the install instructions on the car alarm.

How good are you with testing wires ?
How comfortable are you with electrical ?

If not, pay a professional to do it.

Most shops don't charge that much for basic installation with door locks. Try Best Buy or Circuit City.

I have the Avital brand in my 1992.
it works from a real far distance....and for the added pleasure of remote start.
$350.00 was my cost but you might find it cheaper if you shop around.

I had an Avital ten years ago in my CRX, that I transplanted to my wife'* 88 Grand Prix when the CRX died. That was a really good product. Big fan of Avital.

I got a compustar alarm system, and I absolutely love it. I have had no problems with it so far. Its very sensative too, sometimes the wind sets it off!
