Default 98 Bonneville stereo went silent

I was driving down the road and hit a pot hole. My Stock GM theft lock CD player stopped having sound come out. There is no sound on the radio or CD. The controls still change mode or channel just no sound. I even unplugged it then plugged it back in still doesn't work.

Anything I should check. I just bought a new kenwood x994 and was about to change the radio anyways but I wanted to use this radio in my 87 Buick GN that I am restoring.

If this is a Bose equipped car, there should be a second connector in the middle of the radio with an orange wire. ensure that wire is plugged in and has power. If it does not have power, the amp isn't going to allow anything through and you'll have no sound.

I'm not familiar with what would kill sound then.
