Default 93 CD Player

i bought a 93 CD player and when i plug it in it just reads 0:00 on the display weather its on or off. when you turn it on the volume bar appears on the bottom but doesnt adjust and none of the buttons will do anythign at all except pressing SET will make that light up on the screen for a second.... any one have ideas?

I think Theftlock may be active. If you can't even power it on and get radio, I'm almost positive of this.

the owners manual for 93 says if theftlock is active it would say LOC on the screen...

okay i swapped it and still no difference. but i noticed everything works if i unplug the connector that dims the climate control and is the input for the steering wheel controls...can anyone confirm a difference in the wiring between 90 and 93 for that connector?
