Default 1992 Bonnevile SSE Gain Slider

I just got this car and there is a gain slider underneath the stereo, but I cant figure out what it is for. Can someone please help? It says Gain and on the left and right it says min and max. There is also a musical note above it.

it'* for how much bass you want the speakers to put out....

Might not work if there is an aftermarket C.D. Player in your ride....

it is actually a gain controller for the separate amplifier for the 6x9s in the back...it doesn't put out that much more but it does add a little bit more bass.
