ok i got it installed. Works fine but the only thing is that i dont have chimes which i dont care, i dont have onstar which i dont care either, but my DIC doesnt work. Could it be that we didnt hook it up? I mean none of the buttons do anything when i press them. The E/M buttom, Trip Reset, Select, and Reset and etc. dont work at all. Could it be that i forgot to hook those wires up? I really dont wanna get back in there and check all the wiring it took me like 5 hours to do all that.

02SPCGHST, Any tips you can give someone who wants to do the same thing you did?

I'm also a newbie to car audio and want an after-market stereo with aux so I can hook up my ipod : )

What did you have to buy?

ok, read my whole thread. The guys on here helped out alot. First u need to buy a aftermarket HU with an ipod capability and then the cord that hooks that up. You will need a dash kit if u do buy a single din HU. You will need a metra GM interface module which runs typically around 80-100. You will need a wiring harness for your HU as well. And about 5 hours of your day with some beer and someone to help if possible. It is a PITA. Someone chime in and say what else JTIGHE1 needs that i left out. You can also search for it on the Forums. Type in Aftermarket Head Unit, many people have posted about this and has gotten plenty of feedback. Trust me, these guys are here to help and i have faith that anyone can do this. I mean, im ok when it coems to car auido, ive done stuff before and i had second thoughts about this but i went on with it, started it, and finished it. Now i am ver very very pleased with my results.
