did you buy a new one or are you going to repair it?

new install. http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AF...9415/124770452

repair. http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...e=article&k=97

repair is a lot cheaper and most have had success with it.

How do you tell if it is the regulator or motor that is bad?

If you haven't bought yet..you might decide to fix instead. To my knowledge no one that has fixed has had a failure since fixing, meanwhile there are horror stories of people replacing 2-4 regulators for one window.

I just tried to take the panel off the drivers door to see how easy it was going to be to replace the regulator. I didn't even get past the panel. I broke to of the clips that hold the panel tight. It still went back on OK . But I think I am going to let somone else do it.

Don't let that get you down and discourage you. Dick...where'* the writeup on taking off the door panel?

We can walk you right through it and if you want..save you a bundle of money in the process.

Here'* the link for removing the door panel. The clips that you broke are easily replaced and carried as part of the Dorman "Help" cards at many auto parts stores.

If you are having problems with the front window not going down, you may not even have to pull the panel - although recommended for a longer lasting fix. The fronts often bind up mechanically, and while removing the motor from the regulator and lubing things up is the recommended fix, you can often getting it working again by holding the window button in the down position and giving the door a good slam shut.
