Default Torque converter lock up question

If I drive the car very easy and just accelerate slowly, by the time I'm barely hitting 30mph the converter locks up already. This is very annoying and you end up lugging the motor and if I give it a little bit of gas to stay at lets say 35mph, it feels like the tranny studders or something. it'* very faint but it does that anytime it'* in overdrive and you give it just a little bit of gas.

Is this normal?

Is there anything we can do about it?

Thanks for any feedback!

TC should not lock up until 48mph. Take it in while you still have a warranty. Need a scantool to confirm lockup.

Wow, that'* very interesting. Now by lock up I'm talking about it'* like it goes into a very high gear, like it shifts into "overdrive" That is the converter locking up, is it not?
Also, is there a difference between having it in "D" or "3" for this 48mph lock up number?

TC should not lock up in 3 at all. D should lock up at 48. Are you sure it'* not just 3rd gear engagement due to the low TPS voltage? This may be normal.

An INTENSE PCM should fix this, ask them for more details.

The TC does lock up in third and shifter in third.
