Thanks for the vote of confidence Hailey

I'm sure we'll find a cure for it eventually!

I got mine fixed. After they did the tuneup and all still didn't fix the problem so they put a rebuilt tourque convertor in and that did fix it. Repairs and parts came to the tune of about a grand. Only thing that kinda bugs me know is it takes a while to shift into the highest gear (has to warm up all the way first).

Default Surging here too

2000 SSEi here too.....same problem.....confirmed by several mechanics.....torque converter clutch is bad......price to repair is nearly a new tranny after labor. Plugs, wires, etc useless in fixing tranny surges, but better overall performance. Hate to rain on anyone'* parade....seems like that'* the sad reality of it.

That is not what i wanted to hear. I bought a 2000 sle with 147000 miles on it about a month ago. The car has had the problem everyone has been describing since i bought it.
This not good news there is no way i can aford to pay for this, not with a car payment. At least now i know what the problem is. Thanks everybody.
