Default Stock air box

Hello everyone, I have seen a couple of people on here say they have a gutted air box. I put a K&N air filter in and I dont see a whole lot of anything in the box except a tube. Exactly what is a gutted air box?

Thanks Victor

you want to take all the Baffels out of the stock box, basically make it wide open inside. I think there are 00+ pics around here somewhere

Here is a thread all about gutting the 00+ airbox.

http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...=gutted+airbox

When I helped Hailey, I didn't cut the whole front off as there was a large diameter hole in it already that was sealed into the fender for fresh air. However inside there was an area that was solid and had a smaller hole in it. I removed a large rectanglar section of this to improve flow across the filter.

There was a noticeable difference...I'm not sure how large though.
