Short and sweet, I would get it apart as quick as possible, and see what that noise was, and check the wires going to the airbag.

Thanks for your reply, I do remember reading on this site something about turning the wheel to far with the shroud off, would break the contact or wire for the air bag and then deployment would not happen, but I can't find the info now.

The only wire for the air bag that I had to disconnect is the yellow wire for the air bag under the dash so I could remove the steering coloum, I plugged that wire back together .....it has to do with that braking sound at the steering wheel...

So if anyone has did a repair at the steering wheel to make the air bag light go off, please help me out here......

Thanks

Okay along with the airbag light staying on, none of my steering wheel radio controls work either......so that pop in the steering wheel when I turned it disconnected something......can any body help please....

Seems like I fixed my current problem by replacing the steering wheel sensor.....only to great a new problem.......I'm getting to old for this

Appreciate any help to resolve this new problem I just created, hope it'* just a connection that got disconnected....

Not only the airbag light stays on but my steering wheel controls don't work either, so what ever got disconnected has caused this problem....

What do I need to do to get at this connection, I never worked on a steering wheel with an air bag before, so I need some guidance

Thanks for your help

What I need to know is the pop in the steering wheel, is it a connection that just needs to be reconnected or did I break something like the clock (spiral) spring.......I figured out a special tool is required to get the air bag of the steering wheel, which I don't have

The radio buttons on the steering wheel not working and the airbag light staying on is it the same fix or are they separate issues??

Can someone please help me

Thanks
