When I turn the key off and remove it, the alarm sounds like I left the key in the ignition. Also the "security" message flashes on the dash and the lights stay on a long time, maybe thirty minutes or so.

Car runs fine, however, when a number of short trips are taken the battery goes dead..

What'* the solution?

Check your light switch. It might be out of auto. Also check the sentinel.

Looks like you have a 2000 Bonneville.

Stan do you have an after market security system(or remote start) installed?
