Just a minor suggestion... Have you considered something remanufactured? Say from Jasper? I have heard that their transmissions are more durable; that they last most times over twice the miles that the OE did. It costs a little bit more, but seems a little bit more worthwhile than a rebuild in the big picture.

I am not sure about Jasper in canada, but I'm sure you have some good option for reman transmissions up there.

I'm also researching trans rebuilding. Prices seem in line with what I've found.

I never thought this thread got off topic :? Either way, I posted awhile back that the car had been sold.

and when you start adding power like every other SSEI owner and stilll have problems with the trans...its advisable to do the Perf rebuild from the get go

Default Rebuild a tranny

Our 01 SSEi has a hard shift that does not happen all the time. It shifts like a shift kit and hits real hard. Any ideas ?

We need to have this split off to start your own thread. This will get you the best diagnosis and exposure.

Start off with checking the fluid level, color and smell.
We'll also be asking for mileage on the car and to know when ..if any flushes or filter changes have been done on the trans.
