Default randomly wont crank over

I have a 2000 SSEi and have been having a issue starting it for a few months but it seems to be happening more frequently now. Sometimes when you turn the key the radio turns on, the gauges move, and you can hear the fuel pump kick in but the starter doesnt do anything. I usualy end up turning they key a million times and eventualy it will crank over. The car doesnt always show a security light, I have checked the battery terminals, and just replaced the starter switch but I am still having issues. Do you have any ideas?

Could have a starter that'* starting to die. Or you may have a bad battery cable. Pull back the boot and look at where it connects to the cable.

Sounds like the same issue as mine. When it happens again check you shift indicator light on the dash(the orange light which shows your gear seleted) it should be on when the key is turned on. If it is not on you have an issue with your neutral/park switch.
Greg.

sounds like your starter is going . is it harder to start when it is hot then its probably your starter . if someone can hit starter with hammer when trying to start and it works its the starter . brushes are worn

Tying into Dan'* suggestions to look at the battery cable, also look at the battery post. On our 2001 Bonnie the side post inside the battery cracked, making enough contact to unlock the vehicle, but not enough contact to turn over the starter. The only fix was to replace the batter.
