Default R I P ssei need suggestions

So to make a long story short I changed the lim gasket and head gaskets and my step dad forgot to put in the keeper rail on the top of the head back in on one side we pushed it out of the garage and started it and it scattered!!.....wtf. No sense in crying over spilt milk what'* done is done and he'* going to pay for the new motor.now my question is from reading on here I know there is no difference between a N/a & a charged motor except for the supercharger and some other things that I already have so should I just get a n/a motor for cheaper and just put my charger on it or should I try to find a supercharged one.I didn't know if it would stress the motor at all from being stock and then me throw it in my car with mods and take it above its normal operating range.....so guys what would you do if you were in my shoes I'm trying to do this cheap but those motors are not cheap from what I've found so far

What was all damaged on the engine? Because you can get a short block, and then transfer everything over. You may find a short block for about $250-$300, plus about $250 in gaskets. Or a salvage yard full L67 for $650-$1000. But then they will want your old engine as a core.

the motor is trashed I got lifters in my pistons, rods down in the crank case, cracked pistons, blown apart pistons its bad, but I can get a whole 2000 bonneville motor na for around 400 with no core so should I jump on that or just try to find a l67

That engine has different heads then your L67, so you can't just transfer the top over. To do a top swap you will need a set of L67 heads. Other then that you should have everything else. harmonic balancer, pulleys, ICM bracket, LIM, injectors, fuel rails and wiring harness.

Also, the L36 is 9.5:1 compression, and the L67 is 8.5:1 compression.

What many have found a more viable option is the series 3 engine supercharged. Not only do you get the chance of an even stronger bottom end, they seem to be cheaper then a series 2 in some cases. You would need to swap manifold and supercharger over I believe, but something to keep in mind with scattered driveway bits.

What would I need to change to upgrade to a series 3? Cause I found one for 650 and if I could do that it would be awesome but if its alot I'll stick with finding a 2

Billboost should be able to answer that, but I don't think there'* much of a difference other then a mount or two. But I can't say for sure.

im a little confused as far as curious. ive worked on many engines including ones with broken timing belts that hit and mangled every valve in the head. but was able to put new valves in and reassemble and be fine. what keeper rail on the head didnt he forget that managed to trash the engine including the pistons, at an idle. im not saying your wrong but seems a little far fetched to me.
